Yoshinori Niwa works in the street and other public spaces where countless people pass through, rather than the space of the gallery or museum. Through performances that make use of his own body and collaborative events that involve the audience, Niwa interposes a kind of unfamiliar alien experience within everyday life, posing pertinent questions about the nature of communication, interpersonal boundaries and the market.
This solo gallery exhibition, therefore, represents a restriction and challenge to Niwa, who will attempt to create a "realistic" experience for viewers within the gallery.
