This event has ended.

Japan's postwar period in the 1950s and 60s saw a dramatic surge in the number and variety of newspapers and magazines in circulation, providing a platform for many novelists and illustrators to show their work. These publications included mass-market leisure magazines, illustrated stories aimed at teenagers, girls' magazines and weekly journals. This exhibition showcases works by some 340 illustrators and manga artists who flourished during this golden age of magazines, with a focus on the two most prominent figures of the era, Sentaro Iwata and Tatsumi Shimura.
