The Boston Museum of Fine Arts is famous for its vast collection of ukiyoe and Japanese antiques. This exhibition features around 140 works by Kiyonaga Torii, Utamaro Kitagawa, Sharaku Toshusai, and their contemporaries.

美人画に描かれた女性の指、うなじ、みだれ毛等の種々の仕草に200年近く経った今でもハッとさせられる。絵師、彫師、摺師、版元と作品に携わる作り手がオトコならではの普遍な美意識。
