Louise Nevelson is known for her painted black wood sculptures, Ad Reinhardt for his monochrome black abstract paintings, and Hiroshi Sugimoto for his black-and-white photos of theaters. This exhibition explores the color black as an important element that features in all these different works, offering visitors an encounter with an extraordinary space sequestered from the noise and hustle of everyday life.
