This event has ended.

In celebration of the awarding of the 2020 Olympics to Tokyo this exhibition takes a review of Taro Okamoto’s involvement with the first Tokyo Olympics held 50 years ago in 1964, which included collaboration with Kenzo Tange in the realization of a giant wall mural covering 50m x 3m across one of the entrances to the sports halls of the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, designing the medal of participation for all the athletes and officials who joined the sporting event, as well as creating Olympic themed works such as “Marathon”. He not only contributed to the Tokyo Olympics in this way but also designed the medals for the Sapporo Winter Olympics and the Munchen Olympics, with this exhibition taking a review of his relation to sports and the Olympics.
