This event has ended.

Jean Michel Othoniel is a contemporary artist born in 1964 in Saint-Etienne, France and has worked primarily in glass sculpture since 1993. His retrospective at the Pompidou Center in 2011 attracted over 200,000 visitors in 3 months, drawing international acclaim and has enjoyed a string of successful shows since. Here at Karuizawa New Art Museum 5 of his most recent works in glass are displayed within the gallery spaces along with an outdoor installation as well as drawing works. Here his resplendent glass surfaces poetically reflect the layers of the surrounding space and dynamically capture the charm of the Karuizawa landscapes.
