Nobuto Fukutsu “Pattern of Light”

This event has ended.

The paintings of Nobuto Fukutsu painstakingly describe the patterns found in landscapes and intimate scenes. His technique seems to imitate the snapshot image and yet the traces of light which play upon his surfaces provide his work with an added strength and depth beyond realism, combining the figurative depiction of objects with the abstraction of the pattern. In this way he has stepped beyond the field of painting to collaborate with architects reflecting his wide approach to his art practice.
In his first solo exhibition at Gallery Speak For in 5 years Nobuto Fukutsu showcases his “Pattern Stroke” series, creating images from snow flake like hexagonal lines and the “Pattern Collage” series painted upon hole punched paper, also accompanied by sketches, drawings and original T-shirts available for purchase.
