Dr. Ayelet Zohar is a professor of Asian Studies at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as well as an art critic, a curator, and artist. She specializes in visual culture, photography history, contemporary photography, visual art, and installation art. In this special lecture, for which she has traveled to Japan, she will use real examples of photographs to speak about photography’s essential property of light and explain how Japanese photographers have turned their cameras toward artificial light, natural light, and heavenly bodies.
