This event has ended.
Exhibition introducing the work of nine up-and-coming Japanese architects and two architecture units through their drawings and models. The aim of this show is to provide a bridge between the realm of architectural design and that of the imagination, also known as “dreams,” hence the theme given to the 13 young architects participating was “Dream home.” The “house” is a basic archetype in architecture and is deeply linked to our conception of primitive humans and how they built and lived. Meanwhile, the interpretation of the word “dream” and what it connotes is wide open and here has been left for the individual architects to discern. They will express their thoughts via small scale drawings and models, where you can see their dreams layered to form dense microcosmoses that go beyond the reality of architecture. What kind of dreams can we build in an era where there is such a sense of stagnancy and creative blockage? See how the future faces of Japanese architecture explore the potential of what is to come.
