This event has ended.
From the seemingly possible yet impossible scene in “Waterfall” to people walking around in unconnected staircases in “Relativity”, it is fair to say everyone has seen M.C. Escher’s wondrous and one-of-a-kind worlds in a textbook or somewhere at least once. 2018 marks the 120th year since the birth of this world renown graphic artist. A large-scale retrospective exhibition commemorating this special year is taking place in Japan. This exhibition will consist of work from the collection of the Israel Museum being shown in Japan for the first time. Over 150 pieces including his well-known trick art or trompe l’oeil, early works, and the boards and drawings he used to create his works will be on exhibit.
