This event has ended.

Hadachu Orimono is a textile producer from Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, an area that has been known for silk fabric production since the Edo period. With its traditional techniques, the area is the number one producer of neckties in Japan. From 1935, Hadachu Orimono has been producing fabrics for umbrellas, wrapping cloths, and OEM production of neckties. The company started its own line of neckties out of a desire to “make something we like”. The company produces several types of ties including a rougher, tweed-like style to a smoother, silkier weave called shaori. The process is painstaking and the company is currently the only one in Japan to offer shaori-weave neckties. The company offers factory tours as part of its activities to promote the region.
