The Japan Advertisers Association, comprised of Japan’s influential advertisers, has been giving out the JAA Award since 1961. With the support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the JAA Award aims to recognize the best in advertising from the vantage point of everyday consumers in the hope of contributing to the development of advertising. This year saw 1337 entries in the fields of newspaper, magazine, television, radio, digital, and outdoor/transportation. 63 works were awarded by a 130-person panel of consumers based on the criteria of “empathy”, “understandability”, and “creativity”.
