This exhibition in a series dedicated to the painter Chu Asai considers his work during the five-year period after he returned from studying in France to teach at a technical high school in Kyoto. During this time he experimented with ceramics, lacquer, weaving, and other genres while creating many watercolors. His watercolors, designs, and contributions to Kansai painting are surveyed.
