Photojournalist Jun Itoi studied photography in the U.S. After working as a salaryman in Tokyo for 15 years he became a lumberjack in the mountains of Gunma and began documenting the life and work of his mentor in black and white images. These 30 photographs also show the village festival “Onbeiya.”
