Closed Today (Sunday)

In the 1920s and 1930s, the globally renowned designers Alvar and Aino Aalto focused on interior design enriching lives in small spaces. The couple not only designed architecture “necessary for daily living,” they also created furniture, glassware, and many other masterpieces still used today. Aino created cutting-edge kitchens emphasizing function and cleanliness based on behavioral studies for efficient design. With the support of MIT and artificial reality technology, this exhibition recreates a small living space designed by the Aaltos.
