Erika Kobayashi creates manga, novels, films, and other works fictionalizing research into what cannot be seen by the eye. This exhibition for the publication of her manga “Hikari no Kodomo 3” (Children of Light 3) is a two-part show of new artwork. The three-volume series deals with the 120 years of history since Marie Curie identified the element of radium. Original illustrations and video for the manga are featured in Part 1 and new artwork centering on the CD “Radium Girls 2011” by Kobayashi and the musician Phew for Project Undark is shown in Part 2. There will also be live drawing and signing events as well as a talk by Chim↑Pom’s Ryuta Ushiro.
