Ishimoto Yasuhiro Centennial: Tradition and Modernity

With “tradition and modernity” as the starting point, this exhibition focuses on the first half of the Yasuhiro Ishimoto’s activities and pays attention to his gaze that penetrates various subjects. At the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, the focus is on Ishimoto’s unique view of the city with select works from his mid to late years. Through the two exhibitions, the whole picture of Ishimoto’s activities will be revealed from a more diverse perspective. After that, a culmination of the two exhibitions will be held at the Kochi Museum of Art.
