Tokyo Wonder Site opened at the end of 2001 as a vehicle offering support to young creators, and a platform for exchange between artists and art fans. Activities since the launch include among many other exhibitions both internationally operating artists and local newcomers, artist residency trial runs, events introducing contemporary composers, collaborations with traditional art fields, and club nights organized by artists together with art lovers. The opening of new space in Shibuya in 2005 marks a step up to another level on the way to establish a new platform for the arts in Tokyo.
