Kyubey Kiyomizu
The Shimane Prefectural Art Museum is holding the "100th Anniversary of Kyubei Kiyomizu.

The sculpture "Talking to Each Other" stands in the front vestibule, the approach to the Shimane Art Museum. It is monumental and at the same time blends in with its surroundings without any sense of discomfort. The sculptor, Kyubey Kiyomizu (1922-2006), was active in the fields of ceramics and sculpture after World War II, and many of his sculptures have been installed throughout Japan (indoors and outdoors).

This exhibition will feature a collection of sculptures, drawings, and maquettes from the museum's collection, as well as a vast collection of materials carefully preserved by those involved, with a focus on Kiyomizu's favorite tools, and will also introduce some aspects of his creative process.
