"The paintings in this exhibition depict two subjects, those of Motorcycles and Flowers. The motorcycle images are taken from advertising brochures used by Japanese Motorcycle Companies during the late 1960s and early 1970s. When I was a teenager in Ireland, I used to ride these motorcycles and these paintings are reminiscent of my youth.
The flower images are taken from real flowers that I bring to my studio. The flowers are a memorial to the suffering of the human race and are a symbol of hope for a better and more peaceful future. The Motorcycles are painted on Vietnamese Paper and the Flowers are painted on Elmers Wood Glue." (Rodney Dickson)
