Artists

Chiharu Shiota
An oversized dirty dress under a shower, a bed and a burned piano caught in a web of wool, a video of menstruation blood dripping on a water surface: these are just a few examples of Chiharu Shiota's daring and extreme work.
After a personal exhibition in the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art last summer, Shiota participated in the first Sevilla Biennale in Spain (curated by Harald Szeemann), where he presented an installation built of about 700 window glasses. Currently he is involved in "Dreaming Now", a group project of the Rose Art Museum of Massachusetts, featuring installations by eight different artists.
With this exhibition, Shiota presents us an installation consisting of broken mirror pieces and strings of wool; the complex construction evokes a strange atmosphere, as if time had stopped.
