"Recurrence 1960 Milan - Japan Design and La Triennale de Milan" Exhibition

Shiodome Italia Creative Center
Finished
After the war, La Triennale de Milan was one of the platforms that presented Japanese design to the world. This exhibition focuses on the 1960s, when ties between Japanese design and La Triennale de Milan were the at their strongest.

The Japan section received the Gold Award during the 12th La Triennale de Milan. Daisaku Cho and Shuichi Kitamura of Sakakura Architecture Office led the team in building the space, which exhibited furniture by Sori Yanagi, models of city planning by Noriaki Kurokawa, graphic design by Yasuhira Matsuura and Kiyoshi Awatsu, and introduced cutting-edge technology.

To celebrate the opening of the permanent exhibition space for La Triennale de Milan at Shiodome Italia Creative Center, the Japanese section will be recreated for this exhibition, with one part under the direction of Daisaku Cho.
