Artists

Rick Myers
This Manchester based artist has presented a stream of objects and special edition works on his website "footprintsinthesnow". The latest was a privately released, mail subscription series. He uses understated materials in his works and processes and investigates countless interweaving elements and ideas. Mobiles, hand-detailed prints, bitten work, wooden diagrams, dust and paper sculpture bring together his exploration, documentation, and process of creative association.

This exhibition commemorates the publication of his book by Nieves. "Bite Marks in Paper" presents a series of intimate structures which function somewhere between two and three dimensions. Over the course of twelve months this artist used the action of biting paper to create a series of embossed paper documents that suggest fragments of the everyday as unique records of the impulses that precipitated them. The exhibition presents this new work for the first time in Japan. In addition to the release of the publication, there will be a special accompanying text by Byron Coley, and a limited, deluxe edition available at the gallery.
