This group consists of 8 photographers who have been working around the theme of Chinese steam locomotives. In Japan, steam locomotives disappeared in the 1970s, but they are still functioning in China. Entranced by the cloud-like, expansive steam and the smell of coal, the photographers travel around China to capture these exciting scenes. This exhibition presents photographs in which contemporary scenes from rapidly developing China are contrasted with steam locomotives, which are in danger of extinction.
