Artists

Saku Ishiyama
The artist Saku Ishiyama made his official debut at the age of 85 in January 2007, more than 50 years after Saku Ishiyama started making art. He walked around Nihonbashi and Ginza determining to change careers from being a novelist to being a painter.

Saku's painting reflect his life and philosophy. While they appear to consist of bold and aggressive movement of lines, as one faces his paintings, they start to reveal delicate and elaborate strokes. This exhibition includes his recent works on large canvas and pastel paintings in naturally lit settings. Surrounded by a flood of unexpectable vivid colors, viewers will find moments when the paintings allow them to look into themselves.
