"Unbuilt works of Le Corbusier: Unfinished Architecture" Exhibition

Artists

Le Corbusier
75 buildings that Le Corbusier designed were constructed in his lifetime, but he had drawn plans for about 200 more. There are many projects that for whatever reason were left unbuilt, but would most likely have been paid much attention and been critically praised. This exhibition features a selection of works from among these unfinished plans that Le Corbusier particularly favored. These plans are reflections of his early enthusiasm for massive projects, his later search for a new direction, and the social atmosphere of the times.

Projects include:
House with an atelier (1920s)
Plan for Voisin (1925)
Mundaneum (1928-30)
Soviet Palace (1931)
National People's Celebration Center for 10,000 people (1936-37)
Sainte-Baume (1948-50)
Strasbourg Meeting Place (1964)
French Embassy in Brazilia (1964-65)
Olivetti electronic computing center (1962)
Venezia New Hospital (1965)
