Minori Yamazaki
Minori Yamazaki first came up with the idea of this "four dimensional kaleidoscope" when he was a freshman at an art university, and has revived it now after 30 years. It was first introduced in the publication "Otona-no Kagaku vol. 13". An enormous universe is enclosed in the hand-size mirror box representing the mysterious coexistence of macro and micro. This exhibition introduces the structure of the cubic cosmos and a video documentation of the inside.

The four dimensional kaleidoscope "Cumos" is different from regular kaleidoscopes consisting of three mirrors. The original kaleidoscope was invented by British physicist Brewster in the early 19th century. After 200 years, Yamazaki added a new form of kaleidoscope with this invention and his utility model was officially approved in 1985.
