In conjunction with his solo exhibition "Landscape" at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Toshio Shibata is holding "Still in the Night" at Soh Gallery from December 13th.
Toshio Shibata is an internationally-acclaimed photographer who has been producing photographs of river dams. While the exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography takes a retrospective overview of his oeuvre, this exhibition focuses on the 'night freeway' series Shibata took during the 1980s. While this series has been exhibited before, this is the first time that it is being introduced in a comprehensive way. Also, Soh Gallery is publishing Shibata's new photo book "Still in the Night" and releasing it on the first day of the exhibition. A limited number of special editions will be available also.
Shibata is also holding another exhibition at Gallery Art Unlimited in Roppongi concurrently with this exhibition.
