Notsuke Peninsula is Japan's largest spit facing the threat of disappearance in one hundred years due to the effects of global warming. This photographer, who has been visiting the peninsula for the past five years, was struck by the universal rhythm of the waves and things randomly washed ashore. Nature expressed "as it is" can become distant in our ordinary lives in which we separate things according to belief and disbelief, beauty and ugliness, or "as I like". An 8x10 camera was used to create 9-12 large prints for this exhibition.
