Ko Igarashi
Ko Igarashi is an artist who spent his formative years in Paris. His work is known for its distinctive approach in attempting to understand the element of perpetuity or eternity that lies behind the transience of reality. This is expressed though simple visuals that accommodate a certain space for free, unbridled creation, rather than through strong messages that promote the frantic progress of contemporary society.

The title "A Tempo" is a musical term that means "at the original speed." The works in this exhibition were inspired by a news story about "two adolescents who lost their lives to a quiet, tranquil sea." Taking as his subjects the artificial man-made structures created in a bid to control the forces of nature, such as breakwaters and snowsheds, Igarashi attempts to frame the relationship between human activity and the constancy of nature, unchanged since primitive times. Around 15-20 works are on display.
