"Satsuma Ceramics -Traditional Beauty That Fascinated Paris and Princess Atsuhime" Exhibition

Known as "Satsuma" around the world, Satsuma ceramics were introduced at the 2nd Paris Exposition in 1867, receiving much critical acclaim. Celebrating the 140th anniversary of this art form since it was introduced on a global scale, the "Satsuma Ceramics -Paris Traditional Beauty Exhibition" was held in 2007 at Musee National de Ceramique in France, the most notable ceramic art museum in the world, winning favorable recognition.

Centering on works exhibited at the Musee National de Ceramique, this exhibition showcases a total of around 200 Satsuma ceramic works with a history of roughly 400 years in this commemorative year that celebrates the 150th anniversary of Franco-Japanese relations.
