Berlin-based artist Yukihiro Taguchi has been attracting increasing attention for works that he denotes as "performative installations". These consist of installations that are shifted little by little, of which photographs are taken and then assembled into a stop motion animation. The spaces change day by day and the whole process can be witnessed as an animation later on.
For this exhibition, Taguchi will keep sending sketches and photographs everyday by fax, which will then be exhibited and photographed in order to create another stop-motion animation. The "Über" in the title is German for "going beyond". By using the technique of faxing, Taguchi will move beyond time and distance to construct a relationship between Berlin and Tokyo.
