Kyoko Wainai
London-based creator Kyoko Wainai began her career as a bag designer in Japan. Since shifting her base of operations overseas, she has produced fashion accessories, interior objects and other pieces through collaborations with various companies and designers.
This exhibition showcases 10 years of Wainai's work since participating in the Milano Collection 1999 for the first time: from pieces that make use of richly ornamented European fabrics and traditional Asian materials, to a number of simple tools for everyday use. In addition, bags and other accessories produced in collaboration with Somes, the only harness manufacturer in Japan, will be on display and for sale at the adjacent Gallery Mitate.
