This is Kenji Suzuki's third solo exhibition at Switch Point, featuring contemporary abstract paintings that push the possibilities of the genre.
Suzuki makes drafts for his paintings on graph paper, whose grids form the basic structure for his final pieces. This process of drafting effectively leaves his paintings lacking in motifs, but the resulting work also alerts viewers to its connections with our daily life. Despite this surface similarity to geometric abstract paintings, therefore, Suzuki's work achieves a different effect by inducing a slight shift in its forms.
