Kazuharu Ishikawa
Ishikawa's daily routine involves walking around with a pen and notebook, recording scenes that linger in her mind using simple linework. She then makes stringent selections of these huge collections of drawings, and uses knitting wool and silk threads instead of drawing implements to render these drawings on canvas, glass and even walls. Ishikawa's distinct style involves developing the "lines" of a drawing into a fascinating painting and injecting new life into it.

This exhibition, "Welcome Home," aims to create art that is easily understood through the lines and forms that make up ordinary objects, reincarnating them in the form of paintings, and reasserts the role that art plays in transcending one's time and national boundaries, connecting the hearts and minds of different people - just like "threads" do. Around 10 new works focusing on 2D pieces are on display.
