Keiji Sakurai
Centering on work from the museum collection, this exhibition showcases paintings by Keiji Sakurai, a 90-year-old painter who is still active today.

Sakurai (1919-) was born in Takasaki, Sakura City, and traveled widely in Europe after graduating from Tokyo Art School (present Tokyo University of the Arts). Until recently, his practice was devoted to depicting nudes and landscapes using a distinctive palette and airy brushstrokes, winning various awards at international exhibitions.
