Yasunari Kawabata was a prominent supporter and collector of Japanese art in the postwar period, at a time when artworks were getting snapped up by foreign collectors and museums. He maintained strong connections not only to the literary world, but also painters like Harue Koga and Kaii Higashiyama. This exhibition showcases a variety of artworks from Kawabata's collection, in addition to his prized writing tools and implements, bindings for his literary works and other related objects.
