We live in a time when computer graphics and special effects technologies have progressed to a point where fictional spaces with an uncanny reality of their own that do not exist in the real world are proliferating rapidly. Faced with this situation, how can we define "reality" as it pertains to physical, bodily expression as embodied by painting? This first solo show by Masashi Kawakami features around 10 black and white paintings measuring approximately 40cm across.
