Artists

Takaaki Izumi
Takaaki Izumi was born in Fukuoka in 1975 and is currently based in Nagoya. His wooden cargo pallet installations convert common everyday objects into works of art, offering a loose reinterpretation of the Gutai and Mono-ha artists of the 1960s. Izumi's work also takes up notions related to both minimal and conceptual art, as well as the Japanese concepts of "yohaku" and "ma".

This exhibition showcases 5 new works that make use of dice, playing cards, balloons and fake trees.
