Macoto Murayama
We would like to use this opportunity to offer a detailed explanation of the process by which Murayama’s "Flowers" was created. He starts by conducting research on flowers, dissecting them, taking multiple close-up photos and drawing sketches of its parts. Afterwards he moves on to the digital dimension, making use of several types of software: 3ds Max for the form and structure, Adobe Photoshop for the separate parts and composition, Adobe Illustrator to add scale and scientific names. Finally he makes a large scale digital c-print, framing it with transparent plexiglass.

This first solo show by Murayama showcases “Inorganic Flora” in two main parts, namely “Botanical Diagram” (flower images with textual and mathematical elements) and “Botech Art” (combination of Botanical Art and Technical Art, which stresses the 3-dimensional quality of the image and its color spectrum).
