"World of Muttoni: Automaton Theater II" Exhibition

Hachioji Yume Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Muttoni
This is the follow-up exhibition to a 2009 show at this museum by puppet artist Masahiko Muto ("Muttoni").

Muttoni was born in Yokohama in 1956 and currently lives in Hachioji and Kunitachi. His works consist of "mechanized theater devices" - self-contained boxes each with their own often dark and humorous story, with built-in musical soundtracks - that give audiences the impression of watching a film or play.

In addition to around 20 of these automated works in a variety of sizes, this exhibition also features a number of oil paintings, reliefs and rough sketches.
