Shoko Uemura
Shoko Uemura (1902–2001) was a leading Japanese painter from Kyoto who breathed a new life and sensibility into the bird-and-flower painting genre, and was awarded the Order of Culture in 1984. This exhibition, celebrating the 110th anniversary of his birth, traces the entire arc of his career.
