Shunkou Mochizuki
Born in Kofu, Shunko Mochizuki(1893-1979) built her career upon graduating from the Tokyo University of Arts through her frequent selection to the renowned "Japan Art Academy Exhibition", receiving the grand prize in 1958 and being honored for her contribution to arts and culture in Yamanashi prefecture in 1975. This exhibition presents work from her oeuvre which has come to light since the presentation of the Shunko Mochizuki exhibition in 1979, along with an introduction to the work of Mochizuki's contemporaries including Kyuha Noda, Jyoko Kawasaki, Tadao Yoshimura and her brother Sadao Mochizuki.
