This exhibition showcases kanga cloths, colorful east African fabrics featuring bold designs and Swahili adages. Kanga have long served as symbols of a woman’s identity, status, and aesthetic sense in Swahili society. This “Close-Up” exhibition complements a larger permanent collection.
