“Takashimaya Collection - The Beauty of Kimono”

Takashimaya department store was first established in Karasuma, Kyoto in 1831. Renowned for its sale of Kimono fabric it gathered popular attention through the large scale exhibitions of “Hyakusenki” and “Jyobonkai”. This exhibition showcases 100 Kimonos from both of these expositions, allowing visitors to breath in the air of a past era.
