Yuki Inoue
Yuki Inoue has focused on salamanders for the past ten years while the world has experienced a variety of historical and cultural events. Taking up the theme of “vector,” this exhibition features a two-meter statue of a tattooed salamander surfing. The works here express the resolution and separation from the past displayed by amphibians as they first leave water for land. Surfing represents keeping one’s eyes fixed on land and finding one’s way while being pushed and pulled by waves, speaking to the artist’s own sense of determination. Several small salamander pieces are also on display.
