This year marks the 100th anniversary of the iconic photographer Shoji Ueda’s birth. Ueda had an enormous influence over his pupil Yoshimi Ikemoto, who worked as his assistant for 20 years. While Ikemoto continues to photograph the mountains, nature, and people of his hometown, his oeuvre also includes pictures of Ueda being his natural self in their work environment. The photos on display capture Ueda’s humanity and charm.
