Atsushi Kamijo

Atsushi Kamijo is an artist who continues to depict rock musicians, Okinawan out-laws and other such challenging characters, yet rendering them in a light of peacefulness. He captures a moment of beauty amongst danger and tension through the dexterous use of a sharp pen, combined with the accumulation of fine dots to create a sensitively toned monochrome image. This exhibition features a range of work from across Kamijo’s career, from early manga works, to advertising designs for Shiseido, collaborations with NIKE and adidas, as well as his most recent works, including masterpieces formed through only the cut of a knife.
