As always, these new paintings by Nobuyuki Takahashi are based on image clips from magazines and his own photographs. However, this body of work seems both more relaxed and yet thoughtful than ever. Surrounded by landscapes in our daily lives, it is natural for us to project ourselves onto them, trying to see and feel something within them. Expressing this impulse, these works are a follow-up to Takahashi’s 10-meter-wide triptych painting installed high above the bar on the 52nd floor of Toranomon Hills in Tokyo in June, 2014.
