The Japanese-Austrian art unit BCL - Shiho Fukuhara, and Yuuki Yoshioka and Georg Tremmel - transform the gallery space into an temporal, external lab and White Salon, serving as place for artistic research and as a substrate for the documentation of ideas. Here BCL will playfully explore existing artistic and societal issues related to the topics of Biology and Water. The metaphor ‘Unstable Media’ will be used to bind these topics together and relate them to our bodies, our minds and the sources of life. The exhibition will oscillate between the Exo Lab, where experiments are imagined, planned and carried out, including the creation of a metaphysical water filtration system and the construction of DNA drawing robots, and the White Salon, a place for reflective discussions, presentations and meetings, extending dialogue with the audience and other invited scientists, artists and designers.
